Laser Screed Flooring
Laser screed flooring uses a laser-guided screeding machine to strike off fresh concrete to a precise level. It is used on large industrial slabs where flatness matters for racking, forklifts and material handling. How laser screeding works
A rotating laser transmitter sets a reference plane across the site. Receivers on the screed head read that plane and adjust the head height continuously as concrete is placed, while the machine vibrates and levels the surface. This gives far more consistent levels than manual screeding with rails over large areas.
Flatness and levelness
Industrial floors are specified by measurable flatness and levelness, for example the FM classes in the Concrete Society’s TR34 or FF/FL numbers under ACI 117. Laser screeding is one of the main ways to meet these classes on large pours. Final results also depend on the sub-base, concrete mix, finishing and curing.

- Large slabs where wide daily pours are planned
- Floors that will receive VDF finishing or a surface hardener
Combining with other systems
Laser screeding sets the level; the surface is then finished to suit the use. On many industrial floors it is followed by vacuum dewatering, floor hardener and power trowelling, then joint cutting and curing.
