Chemical hardening for concrete
Concrete Densification Flooring
Concrete densification is a liquid treatment that hardens the top layer of a concrete floor, reduces dusting and improves resistance to wear. It suits new slabs and existing floors that have started to dust. ASVDF Flooring provides densification from Shamshabad, Hyderabad, for sites all over India, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Odisha.
How densifiers work
Silicate densifiers (lithium, sodium or potassium based) soak into the concrete and react with free calcium hydroxide left from cement hydration. The reaction forms additional calcium silicate hydrate, the same binder that gives concrete its strength, which fills pores near the surface. The result is a denser, harder surface that sheds less dust.
Benefits
- Reduced surface dusting
- Better abrasion resistance under trolleys and forklifts
- Lower absorption, so spills are easier to clean
- A gradual sheen with regular cleaning
- No coating that can peel or delaminate
How it is applied
The floor is cleaned, and repaired where needed. The densifier is then applied evenly at the manufacturer’s coverage rate. Some products must be kept wet and scrubbed in, then the residue removed; lithium-based products usually penetrate without scrubbing. Densifiers are also used during grinding and polishing.
Limits to know
A densifier strengthens the concrete you already have; it does not fill cracks, level an uneven slab or protect against strong chemicals. Damaged floors need repair first, and chemical areas may need an epoxy system.
